Larsson McSwain is Mike’s son and he is SO grateful for the opportunity to make art with his dad - (pinch him so he knows this is all real!) He lives in Brooklyn, NY, where he works as a book cover designer/picture-maker/illustrator. Larsson was born in Shreveport and still calls it home despite paying NY state tax… Each painting in the show started as a photo to capture a person, place, and/or thing which was later excavated for inspiration and drawn into a sketch that could be transformed with a variety of media* and techniques** into the artworks throughout Along for the Ride. He’s just happy to be here, happy to be painting, and happy to share something dear with y’all.

*Media includes but is not limited to; paint (gouache, acrylic, watercolor), colored pencil, glue, regular pencil, markers, mechanical pencil.

**Techniques include but are not limited to; painting, drawing, solvent transferring, printmaking to varying degrees of technical skill, collaging, photographing, digitizing.
